What people are saying about my books...

The Schoolteacher and the Bad Boy
I loved the book, and so did my sister. It was one of those that you don't want to end. Guess you'll have to write a sequel!! It reminded me so much of the stories mom use to tell us about her teachers that came to Eastern Montana.

I can't thank you enough for writing this book! These situations your characters faced in this book were unfathomable!
My favorite was Mrs. B, who was nothing short of courageous! She helped me see how we underestimate the power we have through forgiveness.
By allowing love into our hearts we have the ability to face our fears. We are able to forgive, not only others but ourselves! Which restores the deepest wounds buried under our shame, fear of failure and guilt.
At times it was so intense I refused to put it down! I had to see what happened next and I was not disappointed.

I am already into the 8th chapter of The School Teacher and the Bad Boy and I am loving it. You are such an amazing author and I know as this story unfolds and as I read its awesome chapters that it will enrich me in God’s word and also captivate me by the adventure.

Your book was a delight to read! A reminder of how wonderfully the Lord works in our lives. He hears our prayers, knows our hearts and places people in our lives to give us hope and change. We can only boast of his Glory. It excited me as I read of your creativity of the story line. I could tell it transformed from many years of your research, counsel, life experience, love and relationship with the Lord. Thank you for writing and sharing a beautiful novel.

This is a great story that chronicles the heroine's journey of personal growth and self discovery. Two things that struck me about the story:
1) While it is written by a Christian author it is not preachy and will appeal to anyone who enjoys a good story
2) I wish I had this book to read when I was in my late teens/early twenties. I identified greatly with the heroine as she makes life-changing decisions and explores her relationships with significant people that come into her life as a result.
Relationships can be hard to navigate, especially for a young woman learning to express her independence. The author does a great job of illustrating this in a way that I found very valuable and also entertaining.
Read this book and then pass it on to a woman you love who will benefit from learning about relationships both romantic and platonic, but most importantly the relationship she has with herself and God!

If you want a captivating read that will take you away into a great story, this is the book. I could not put it down. I enjoyed so much how it incorporated the word of God and biblical life lessons into the story. I will definitely read this book again. I highly recommend it.

My Daily S.O.A.K.

"I have read and studied the bible both formally and informally for many years. Formally, as a requirement of study to obtain a degree in pastoral ministry and informally for my personal time in the Word using various guides and devotionals."
"My personal time in the Word is where I struggled to earnestly search the scriptures. I needed something more than just reading a few chapters every day and checking them off a list. Encouraged by the Lord, my wife and I decided to start My Daily S.O.A.K. In just a couple of weeks, we realized that My Daily S.O.A.K. was creating a genuine hunger and thirst to know God by simply reading scripture, observing, applying, and praying about what we felt God was saying to us. As an added benefit, we joined a S.O.A.K. discussion group which gave us the opportunity to share our discoveries and thoughts freely with others and encouraged us to keep reading scripture, observing, applying, and konnecting."
"Since My Daily S.O.A.K. encourages journaling, I decided to save all of my observations and applications on the computer (others in my group jokingly think that I've going a bit too far). My hope is that someday, my children, and grandchildren, and their children, might read what I've discovered, and be encouraged by everything God has shown me in His Word and by the kind of relationship I have with the Lord."
"What makes My Daily S.O.A.K. unique is the freedom of discovering the nature and character of God through His Word in a more personal way by following the simple outline of Scripture bite, Observation, Application, and Konnection, capturing those thoughts in a journal and choosing to discuss them with others."

My Daily SOAK is a very good way to read and reflect on the New Testament in a structured manner. I have been able to do the daily study in 10-15 minutes, which includes reading a chapter of the NT (in sequence) and a couple questions to help you reflect & briefly journal on the passage read. This book has made it easier for me to stick to my daily bible study without feeling overwhelmed. Each week has five chapters, so I use it Mon-Fri and if I miss a day, I use it on Sat or Sun to catch-up, or to review the readings for the previous week. My husband liked this book also and just had me order him his own copy.
Debra B. TN Although I have been a Christian since childhood, I was never motivated to read and study the Bible on a daily basis. “My Daily Soak” changed all that. I found the format easy to follow, the reading time minimal, and the journaling could be as short or as long as I wanted. The insights I received as I began learning more about the life of Jesus and His disciples revealed a much clearer picture to me of God’s amazing grace and the Love He has for me. Journaling with God is like having coffee with my best friend every day. I get to share my heart, God listens, and actually responds! “My Daily Soak” put me on a closer walk with Jesus that has changed my life and my heart forever. Charlene Lewis Gilbert, AZ Dolores, I wanted to send this note to let you know how much I am enjoying S.O.A.K. Wow! I look forward to doing this study every day. I have read the New Testament before, but it never really sunk in or came alive as it is with S.O.A.K. It has helped me to see just how much the Bible applies to my everyday life and how God is truly working in my life. Thanks!!! Judy Mesa, AZ |
