Today’s Scripture: 1 Chronicles 28:9-10 The Message—And you, Solomon my son, get to know well your father’s God; serve him with a whole heart and eager mind, for God examines every heart and sees through every motive. If you seek him, he’ll make sure you find him, but if you abandon him, he’ll leave you for good. Look sharp now! God has chosen you to build his holy house. Be brave, determined! And do it!”
Today’s Word: Assignment
Today’s Prayer: Dear Father God, thank you for clearly speaking to me as you did to Solomon about my specific assignment. It is an important to know exactly what my responsibility is and what it is not. You are a good God. Thank you for being my closest partner in life happenings. Amen

1 Chronicles 13:1-3; 14:10, 13

Today’s Scripture: 1 Chronicles 13:1-3; 14:10, 13 The Message—“If it seems right to you, and it is God’s will—The entire assembly of Israel agreed—everybody agreed that it was the right thing to do and they brought the Ark back to Israel. So David gathered all Israel together (again), David prayed to God: “Is this the right time to attack the Philistines? Will you give me the victory?” God answered, “Attack; I’ll give you the victory.” And then the Philistines were back at it again, plundering in the valley. David again prayed to God. God answered, “This time don’t attack head-on; circle around and come at them out of the balsam grove. When you hear a sound like shuffling feet in the tops of the balsams, attack; God will be two steps ahead of you, slaughtering the Philistines.”
Today’s Word: Consult
Today’s Prayer: Dear Lord, in these three examples David consulted you, you answered and the victory was his. This is what I want—to consult with you and you alone no matter what my problem is, and however you choose to speak to me it is your answer I want to hear. Thank you, for always being available and for the Holy Spirit living in me, confirming your directions. Amen.

1 Chronicles 10:13-14; 11:9

Today’s Scripture: 1 Chronicles 10:13-14; 11:9 The Message—Saul died in disobedience, disobedient to God. He didn’t obey God’s words. Instead of praying, he went to a witch to seek guidance. Because he didn’t go to God for help, God took his life and turned the kingdom over to David son of Jesse. David took up residence in the fortress city; that’s how it got its name, “City of David.” David’s stride became longer, his embrace larger—yes, God-of-the-Angel-Armies was with him!
Today’s Word: Go
Today’s Prayer: Dear Father God, it is obvious from these scriptures where my personal power comes from. It’s from you! Go with God and go with confidence. Go against God or in fear and be defeated. I will go with you. Thank you, for making it so clear. Amen.

1 Chronicles 5:20, 25, 26

Today’s Scripture: 1 Chronicles 5:20, 25, 26 The Message—because they cried out to him in battle, God answered their prayers because they trusted him. But they were not faithful to the God of their ancestors. They took up with the ungoldly gods of the peoples of the land whom god had gotten rid of before they arrived. So the god of Israel stirred up the spirit of Pul king of Assyria (Tiglath-Pileser king of Assyria) to take the families of Reuben, Gad, and the half-tribe of Manasseh into exile. He deported them to Halah, Habor, Hara, and the river of Gozan. They’ve been there ever since.
Today’s Word: Grace
Today’s Prayer: Oh Lord God, there goes the cycle of the children of Israel. If it weren’t for Jesus would things be much different with me? I don’t think so. I live in a fallen world full of broken people and the lies of the enemy. Only by listening to you and choosing grace over sin can I stay faithful. Thank you Jesus! Amen.

Today’s Scripture: 1 Chronicles 4:10 The Message—Jabez prayed to the God of Israel: “Bless me, O bless me! Give me land, large tracts of land. And provide your personal protection—don’t let evil hurt me.” God gave him what he asked.
Today’s Word: Prayer
Today’s Prayer: Dear Lord help me pray appropriately and in all cases to hear your voice above the noise and bustle around me—to be calm, kind, and loyal as your word commands me in Proverbs 3:3—and to be filled with your Spirit, not my own. Amen

2 Kings 22:19

Today’s Scripture: 2 Kings 22:19 The Message—And also tell the king of Judah, since he sent you to ask God for direction; tell him this, God’s comment on what he read in the book: ‘Because you took seriously the doom of judgment I spoke against this place and people, and because you responded in humble repentance, tearing your robe in dismay and weeping before me, I’m taking you seriously. God’s word: I’ll take care of you.
Today’s Word: Humble
Today’s Prayer: Dear Father God, I want to be like Josiah—humble, taking you seriously. Yet when my feelings get hurt my pride jumps to the forefront. Why is it so hard to say ‘I forgive you’ if I am humble, if I am taking you seriously? Help me Lord. Amen.

2 Kings 20:13, 15

Today’s Scripture: 2 Kings 20:13, 15 The Message—Hezekiah was pleased and showed the messengers around the place—silver, gold, spices, aromatic oils, his stockpile of weapons—a guided tour of all his prized possessions. There wasn’t a thing in his palace or kingdom that Hezekiah didn’t show them. And then Isaiah the prophet showed up: “And just what were these men doing here: Where did they come from and why?”  Hezekiah said, “They came from far away—from Babylon.” And what did they see in your palace?” “Everything,” said Hezekiah. “There isn’t anything I didn’t show them—I gave them the grand tour.”
Today’s Word: Protect
Today’s Prayer: Dear Lord, what a good reminder to always protect my secrets and my treasures from anyone who might be an enemy. Thank God, you are a wise Father and you will always protect me if I remember to ask and listen to your wisdom. Amen.

2 Kings 17:39-41

Today’s Scripture: 2 Kings 17:39-41 The Message—They don’t really worship God—they don’t take seriously what he says regarding how to behave and what to believe, what he revealed to the children of Jacob whom he named Israel. All the things he had written down for you, directing you in what to believe and how to behave—well, do them for as long as you live. But they didn’t pay any attention. They kept doing what they’d always done putting on a front of worshiping God—they were at the same time involved with their local idols.
Today’s Word: Genuine
Today’s Prayer: Dear Lord God, since worship is really about loving you how could anyone think they could get away with faking worship? I know you know my heart better than I do so you would know if I were anything less than genuine in my worship. Genuine worship is an honor and a privilege for me. Amen.

2 Kings 14:23-24, 27

Today’s Scripture: 2 Kings 14:23-24, 27 The Message—As far as God was concerned King Jeroboam son of Jehoash lived an evil life, never deviating an inch from all the sin of Jeroboam son of Nebat, who led Israel into a life of sin. But God wasn’t yet ready to blot out the name of Israel from history, so he used Jeroboam son of Jehoash to save them.
Today’s Word: Perceived
Today’s Prayer: Dear Lord, you used Jeroboam to fulfill your will even though he was evil and certainly didn’t honor your name in any way. The power to make things happen is mostly only perceived on mankind’s part. You are the power. You are the truth. You are the way. You are fully in charge of the outcome. When I look back on my own life, I see so clearly that it is you directing my path. Thank you for being so good to me. Amen.
