Today’s Scripture: Deuteronomy 31:6 The Message "Be strong. Take courage. Don't be intimidated. Don't give them a second thought because God, your God, is striding ahead of you. He's right there with you. He won't let you down; he won't leave you."
Today’s Word: Presence
Today’s Prayer: Thank you God, for this reassuring scripture. You are always present with me. You will never leave me. You and you alone are my help in time of trouble. Nothing that happens to me is ever a surprise to you because you stride ahead of me. Alleluia! It doesn’t matter what the problem is. I can count on your presence, your wisdom, and your strength. I don’t know what I would do without you and I’m not going to try it alone ever. Amen.

Deuteronomy 28:9-11, 13

Today’s Scripture: Deuteronomy 28:9-11, 13 The Message – God will form you as a people holy to him, just as he promised you, if you keep the commandments of God, your God, and live the way he has shown you. All the peoples on Earth will see you living under the Name of God and hold you in respectful awe. God will lavish you with good things God will make you the head, not the tail; you'll always be the top dog, never the bottom dog.
Today’s Word: Choose
Today’s Prayer: Dear Lord, I choose to live my life your way. I know life is really not about me. It is all about you. You have provided everything I need to make the right choices. Your will for my life is very clearly written in the Bible. I am grateful to live in a country where I can worship you wherever, whenever, and however I choose. Amen.

Deuteronomy 22:1-3

Today’s Scripture: Deuteronomy 22:1-3 The Message – If you see your kinsman's ox or sheep wandering off loose, don't look the other way as if you didn't see it. Return it promptly. If your fellow Israelite is not close by or you don't know whose it is, take the animal home with you and take care of it until your fellow asks about it. Then return it to him. Do the same if it's his donkey or a piece of clothing or anything else your fellow Israelite loses. Don't look the other way as if you didn't see it.
Today’s Word: Accountability
Today’s Prayer: Dear God, you know my every thought, every attitude, and every action. You are watching and I don’t want to look the other way as if I didn’t see what you are trying to show me. I know you love and forgive me even when I don’t tend to what you want me to, but I don’t want to just get away with it. Please hold me accountable. Speak to me in my spirit, show me something in your Word; or – this is the hardest one – have someone point out to me that I need to make a change. Amen.

Deuteronomy 17:1

Today’s Scripture: Deuteronomy 17:1 The Message – And don't sacrifice to God, your God, an ox or sheep that is defective or has anything at all wrong with it. That's an abomination, an insult to God, your God.
Today’s Word: Best
Today’s Prayer: Dear God, you want my best. My best time, my best worship, and my best gifts – whatever I give to you – second best is not good enough. After all you are my God. You created me for your good pleasure. You do not deserve any leftovers. I pray you will show me in some significant way if I fall into the trap of giving you less than the best in any area of my life. Amen.

Deuteronomy 12:30-31

Today’s Scripture: Deuteronomy 12:30-31 The Message – Don't get fascinated with their gods, thinking, "I wonder what it was like for them, worshiping their gods. I'd like to try that myself." Don't do this to God, your God. They commit every imaginable abomination with their gods. God hates it all with a passion. Why, they even set their children on fire as offerings to their gods!
Today’s Word: Curiosity
Today’s Prayer: Dear Lord, this just proves curiosity for the wrong reason can lead to awful sin. May I always choose to please you instead of running around to see what others are doing? I want to walk in the power of your grace and ability, being curious about growing deeper in you, not looking to the left or the right but straight into the heart of my God. Amen.

Deuteronomy 7:7-8

Today’s Scripture: Deuteronomy 7:7-8 The Message – God wasn't attracted to you and didn't choose you because you were big and important — the fact is there was almost nothing to you. He did it out of sheer love.
Today’s Word: Love
Today’s Prayer: Dear God, What an amazing and wonderful thing. You chose me because you wanted to. It wasn’t because I was special or had so much to offer your Kingdom, but because you loved me and wanted me to be with you for eternity. That totally takes the pressure off my needing to perform to make you happy. Just the fact I want to spend time with you gives you pleasure. What an awesome God you are. I am so privileged to be your daughter. Amen.

Deuteronomy 3:23-27

Today’s Scripture: Deuteronomy 3:23-27 The Message – I begged God…  You let me in on the beginnings. Please let me in also on the endings; let me cross the river and see the good land… But God was still angry with me because of you. He wouldn’t listen. He said “enough of that. Not another word from you on this. Climb to the top of Mt. Pisgah… take in the land with your eyes. Take a good look because you are not going to cross the Jordon.”
Today’s Word: Responsibility
Today’s Prayer: Dear Father in Heaven, I learn so much from your Word. Moses couldn’t cross the Jordon because he did not honor you in front of your people. He argued with you and blamed the people for his trouble. Sin has consequences I understand that; but I know it is important for me to take full responsibility for my actions, confess my sins to you, and then choose to change. Help me to be humble and to respond to you as you want me to. Amen.

Today’s Scripture: Deuteronomy 2:7 The Message – God, your God, has blessed you in everything you have done. He has guarded you in your travels through this immense wilderness. For forty years now, God, your God, has been right here with you. You haven't lacked one thing.
Today’s Word:  Blessing
Today’s Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for blessing me through all of my years. You have been my constant companion through the good times and the bad. Just as Moses said to the Israelites I have lacked nothing. Help me stay focused and productive for the rest of my life with a good attitude and much creativity. Amen.

Numbers 33:4

Today’s Scripture: Numbers 33:4 God had exposed the nonsense of their other gods.
Today’s Word: Other gods
Today’s Prayer: Dear Jesus, thank you for this short reminder of other gods in my life. Your word is so powerful it doesn’t take much to shake me. The other gods I struggle with aren’t things, but thoughts. My mind wanders easily into thinking about the bad actions of others or my own regrets. I repent these wasteful thoughts. I choose to forgive myself and others and to focus on loving you and building your kingdom. Amen.
